Here in FGC, we have a bit of a problem with gadget cases. We just love them. Smartphones are now so freaking sleek and very attractive. However, some may still find a smartphone a bit too..oo plain. Interview & Giveaway : Gem Remedy

Today on Fashion Geek Club, we are glad to be interviewing the very lovely Dana Schmalenberg, the creator of Gem + Remedy today! We are totally in love with her creations and here is an interview with her!

1. How would you describe Gem + Remedy?

They're intention bracelets for metaphysical enhancements-- but they are dainty, floaty talismans with a touch of sparkle to remind you of your greatest wishes.

2. How did Gem + Remedy start?

I made them as gifts for all my friends for Christmas last year.

3. How do you get ideas to create those beautiful bracelets?

I made friendship bracelets as a child and then learned about color and gemstone therapy as an adult-- well, I was introduced to crystal and gem therapy when i visited a natural history museum at age 11 and saw a display.

4. Favourite place for inspiration?

Walking in nature or dreaming in bed.

5. Are the designs based on specific themes, seasons or just inspired by random items?

The design for each bracelet is the same and very simple-- the combinations or "compounds" as I call them are based on the energy of the stones.

6. Do you wear the bracelets everyday? If so, what is your favourite piece?

I wear them everyday depending on what energy I'm wanting to be reminded of and draw into my orbit. Right now it's clarity and peace.

7. What are you most proud about your products?

That I give a portion of my profits to women's shelters. I think it is absolutely important to give back. Whenever I wear my "wealth" bracelet (green silk with green agate) my affirmation is "I have enough money to share and to spare".

8. We are absolutely in love with the packaging, where did the idea come from?

I feel that these little bracelets are "remedies" to help your metaphysical state so I wanted them to have a medicinal or curative feel. I remembered getting herbs from my acupuncturist in these little bottles and thought they'd be perfect. The label is based on old fashioned mining specimen labels.

9. Describe a Gem + Remedy girl.

She knows the most important thing isn't how we look but how we FEEL. She's into feeling good and spreading good vibes. She wants the best for herself and everyone around her. She's part fairy, part hippie, part vixen and gypsy.

10. Lastly, what’s next for Gem + Remedy?

Next up will be Scent+Remedy. I will be combining herbs and flower essences based on the energies they evoke-- aromatherapy if you will-- for candles, room sprays and skin oils. They will have the same sort of packaging, but will be in much bigger bottles. A portion of the proceeds of this venture will go to animal shelters.

Perfect as always. Such a style chameleon. Vintage, preppy, classy. Her style speaks volume. She has her own book, IT, her make up range and she is a contributor at Vogue. She was in Gossip Girl! Did you guys realize? You know which episode I am talking about, geeks... The last time I heard she was dating Arctic Monkeys' Alex Turner. Eve asked if names of frontmen normally starts with an A. The whole world (not really) knows she hearts Andy Brown. Silly moo. Leave her in her thoughts. Just so in love with that leather skirt and jumper. Great outfit and the Burberry Crush, ooh, gorge! Not sure about you but we heart her.

2) Cara Delevingne

The big name in the fashion industry. Model of the year. A girl everyone wants to be and be with. CARA DELEVINGNE. Younger sister of Poppy D, as successful as Poppy. Cara was chosen as the face of many fashion houses, YSL, Mulberry, Burberry, Fendi and many more. Walked for Chanel, Marc Jacobs and if you follow her on Instagram, you will see the crazier side of her. We can't get enough of her. Just follow her...

3) Kristen Stewart

Another Chanel girl. Kristen Stewart (Evie's fave actress), the famous girl that played Bella Swan is actively involved in fashion after the big breakup. With you know who, the dashing Rob Patz. They broke up and we are still not over it. *sobs* She's the face for Balenciaga's Rosabotanica perfume and look at her! Sooo pretty and Evie's determined to get that perfume. Black and white photo and flowers over her bare body. Sizzling. Just wondering if there's a silent battle between Rob and KStew. They're both in perfume adverts. Opinions, minions? Did we mention she looks good in plain old Converse? Old news, but still worth mentioning.

4) Kendall Jenner

Reality star and related to Harry Styles. Irresistible with great sense of fashion. We are secretly jealous of her mile long legs and she's good at taking selfies. Looks good on almost everything she wears. To top it all off, she's a designer too! Her amazing CV, designer, reality star, model, brand ambassador for Seventeen and she might be dating the famous Harry Styles. She's only nineteen! Bright future for this girl. It's hard not to look at her, really. Another one to follow on Instagram!

5) The Olsen twins

Who could forget them? We almost grew up with them. Gorgeous in everything they put on. This pair could be seem sitting on front row at fash shows. Evie said she would like to touch their hair. Mad woman, that one. The hair resembles Serena's or Jenny's from Gossip Girl. And seriously, we think the huge (oversized, maybe?) sunnies are their trademarks. When there's smoke, there's always fire. But in this case, when there's (huge) sunnies, you wil see the Olsen twins! Not just these two Olsens are successful. Elizabeth Olsen is another fab Olsen. The Olsen Trio (T-O-T), it's a term that we randomly came up with. Haha.

6) Blake Lively

She is not just the girl from Gossip Girl, Serena van der Woodsen. She is the girl everyone knows, a name not uncommon to the fashion industry, Blake Lively. The face of Chanel, she was gorgeous in that advert! Still remember getting every mag with her on the cover. She was the cover girl for Vogue (twice?) and a few other fab ones. Always smiling and we heard she's absolutely down to earth. She's also gorge in the Gucci adverts! Love her and now we know what Ryan Reynolds saw in her. And did we mention that we love her oval cut wedding ring?! May this couple last forever!

New Year Celebration (The FGC way!)

Happy New Year, Geeks! We hope everyone celebrated in style! Did anyone get drunk and got kissed under the mistletoe? That's so Christmas but whatevs, Evie might be a lil wasted as she blog this. Drinking for breakfast, geeks, is not encouraged at all. Lesson learnt. So here's a little peek into what we had for breakkie (drum rolls NOT needed) :

Highlight of the day! When all those '#potd's and '#ootd's are so flipping mainstream. We have #hotd,  it's Kyan's life mission to not be just another girl (main stream ones, you know what we mean!) so yeah, highlight of the day. If selfie could be the word of 2013, hotd would be totally 2014.
